    • At which Hospitals does Dr Tan deliver?

    Dr Steven Tan delivers babies at both the Mater Hospital,  North Sydney and North Shore Private Hospital, St Leonards. You need to book in at these Hospitals once you have your    pregnancy confirmed.

    • I am booked in for an Elective Caesarean section (LSCS), what do I need to do?

    The details of the LSCS will be explained throughout all the consultations with Dr Tan. In the week preceding the delivery date, you will get a phone call from the Hospital with exact details and times. It is usually about a five day admission, and you may be required to fast for 4 hours prior to the procedure.

    • Where do I have my ultrasounds?

    There are many options to have an Ultrasound. For convenience, patients can visit Mater Imaging which is on site near the Mater Clinic, or ask for a referral to a provider of your choice.

    • Do I need a referral from my GP to see Dr Tan?

    Yes. Your doctor must provide you with a referral to see Dr Steven Tan - for either Obstetric or Gynaecological care.

    • What other Specialists may be involved in my Hospital Care?

    Dr Tan works with a team of dedicated and excellent staff committed to caring for you and your baby.

    You may require an Anaethestist for an Epidural (or Spinal) block, or in the event of a Caesarean section.

    Your baby may require a Paediatrician for a post natal check.
